JAMES BRESLIN – DIRECTOR
James is an experienced Occupational Hygienist and Licensed Asbestos Assessor with over 15 years’ experience as a multidisciplinary Consultant, planning and managing indoor environmental projects throughout the UK, Europe and Australia. After 12 years as a senior employee for a number of well established companies in the industry, James set up JMB Environmental Consulting Pty Ltd (JMBEC), a boutique consultancy business based in metro Sydney. Since its inception, JMBEC has attracted a continuous and growing stream of business and managed a range of contracts in Sydney, rural NSW and beyond. This includes the high profiled NSW Loose Fill Asbestos Insulation Program currently being implemented by the NSW Government, under the guidance of the Heads of Asbestos Coordination Authorities (HACA). James has developed long standing relationships with JMBEC customers such as the Australian Museum, WorkCover NSW and Federation Centres, and repeat business is a common occurrence. James was recently successful in gaining NATA accreditation for JMBEC for airborne fibre counting and volume control.
ROB WHITEHOUSE – PRINCIPAL HYGIENIST
Rob commenced his career in the UK where he serviced the London Underground and other major infrastructure asset owners in the southeast of England. This provided the foundations of his now broad skill set in industrial hygiene, for Asbestos, Hazardous Substances and Materials site investigations and management plans, both occupational and environmental noise management, LEV, hazardous dusts, fumes and particulate matter amongst others. Rob moved to Australia and continued developing his skills in Indoor Air Quality consulting and senior project management with a number of high profile projects such as managing occupational health and safety of operatives during coal tar removals at Sydney’s Barangaroo development, survey, removal and clearance works during Mr Fluffy removals in Canberra, as well as managing and delivering various other hazardous materials surveys and removals on large scale portfolios for numerous governmental service providers and assets managers. Rob, like James, is committed to providing reliable and balanced consultancy services with the primary focus of reducing risk in the work place and increasing productivity through the management and development of healthy and safe working environments.
JIM BATTY – OCCUPATIONAL HYGIENIST
Jim is an Asbestos Consultant, Senior Analyst and Project Manager, and has over 7 years’ experience in the asbestos industry within the UK, undertaking asbestos works ranging from air monitoring of airborne fibres, Asbestos surveying and carrying out 4 stage clearance’s following asbestos removal works. Jim has fine-tuned these skills working within a range of built environments, from hospital complexes and university buildings to social housing. Jim brings with him skills including end to end project management of asbestos removal works and promoting a culture of high standards within the asbestos industry whilst building lasting client relations and a strong professional network of Industry experts.
SILVIA CURRAN – ADMINISTRATION MANAGER
Silvia is our Administration Manager. She is responsible for driving the Administration operations within the company, ensuring our systems are constantly evolving and quality measures followed in all our procedures and processes. Silvia has over 20 years’ experience with management, administration and customer service, within the hospitality, building and corporate industries. Silvia has completed a number of short courses focussed on staff management and behavioural trends which accentuate her experience and strong focus on staff development, recruitment and performance management. In her previous management roles, Silvia has been responsible for managing teams of various administration roles, facilities management, a number of office relocations coordinating over 100 staff, system and procedural improvements and monthly reporting to Directors. Silvia has had experience in developing Health and Wellbeing programs as well as a driving force in the development of OH&S policies and procedures. Her experience also extends to accounts and marketing administration.
DEB WIGGINS – ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
Debbie has over 18 years’ experience in Administration, Customer Service and Management which she has gained through a variety of roles in the Hospitality industry. She joined JMB Environmental Consulting Pty Ltd in October 2016 with her main role being to Manage the Loose Fill Asbestos Insulation project where we are working with the NSW Government. She has worked with a variety of Computer systems and operating systems, and has been involved in the roll out of a new operating system in a large Australian hotel chain. She has managed large and small teams and has been customer serviced based in many roles and has always had a hands on approach. She also has experience in accounts, payroll, functions and human resources. She always enjoys a challenge and loves learning new things. She will be happy to help you with anything you need!
GERARD (GED) KEANE – PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT
Ged is a Licensed Asbestos Assessor and has worked in the asbestos and (Work, Health & Safety) WHS industry for over 15 years throughout the UK, Africa, Asia and Australia. Ged is the author of the report on 26 Bradfield Street Downer, ACT, that highlighted the ongoing risk to homeowners of loose fill amosite asbestos (Mr Fluffy), which has resulted in the ACT Government initiating a buy back scheme of over 1000 houses. He is one of the leading Consultants in this area of work and has provided advice to the ACT Government on asbestos issues. Based out of Canberra, Ged gives JMB Environmental Consulting Pty Ltd increased capabilities to provide the superior services we offer.
STEVE DAVISON – HYGIENIST
Steve is a Licensed Asbestos Assessor who has been in the asbestos industry for 3 years. He has worked as an asbestos removalist and in the building industry and has a great understanding of where asbestos is located in buildings and the implications involved in removing it. Steve has worked on the Mr Fluffy project for 18 months.
ROSS BELL – CONSULTANT
Ross is a Licensed Asbestos Assessor and junior consultant who has been employed with Keane Environmental for 18 months. He has completed all four of the asbestos training competencies (3 for asbestos removal and one for asbestos assessing) to give him an understanding of the complete processes involved. Ross has been mentored by Ged and Steve on the Mr Fluffy project and on commercial and residential work and air monitoring and fibre counting.
