ASBESTOS SCARE CAUSES RUSH HOUR NIGHTMARE IN NORTHERN SYDNEY SUBURB.
Traffic on Military Road in Cremorne was seriously affected recently by an asbestos incident at a building site.
On April 11, building workers contacted local fire station over concerns they had upon finding some cement sheeting that contained asbestos.
Fire and Rescue along with their hazard response team went down to the site near Cremorne McDonalds, just past Winnie St, to assess the situation.
The footpath was shut down, along with traffic travelling north. Traffic is being diverted down Winnie Street.
Fire and Rescue used a dust suppression (usually a glue and water mix) to suppress fibre release from the asbestos, and the contamination was contained to site.
