Southern Downs Mayor Tracy Dobie is confident people living downstream from a failing dam in the southern Queensland town of Talgai will get out in time and that the deluge will dissipate quickly.
9News reported that a resident spotted a 3.5m hole in the Bolzan Quarry Dam yesterday afternoon.
The risk of the dam flooding the low lying area will compound the issues that days of downpours to the southeast corner of QLD have already created.
