JMB was recently called to attend site urgently following a large scale fire factory at a commercial building in Sydney’s west for Bay Buildings Group. It was suspected that asbestos containing materials had been damaged by the fire and caused contamination within the factory, and surrounding properties and grounds.
Our two-person assessment team identified widespread asbestos cement debris associated with the fire damaged asbestos cement roof. In addition, it was found that the adjoining properties had also been contaminated, with settled asbestos-contaminated dust to most surfaces.
From our assessment and sampling, we were able to create a map of the contamination, and create a thorough scope of works to assist in managing the contaminated sites, and to offer direction on the removal, cleaning and decontamination processes moving forward. Our team of assessors and NATA accredited lab staff ensured the reports were turned around the same day to ensure a swift and safe clean up.
